Ranae, You should talk to Lisa Comin... She could tell you an interesting twin birth story of her own, but it sounds like the doctor that finished delivering is the one to go to if you want to have a better chance of a natural birth instead of C-section. Good luck!
I have had both and I vote natural if you can ok with an epidural.
It is a hard decision. I didn't really have a choice last time, with my boys like you know. But i think next time i at least want to try natural so i can experience it. I think it would be a neat experience, maybe? haha. anyway. you could maybe go the planned more secure way with a c section than try natural if you have more? But i know sometimes after you have a c section, if you get too much scar tissue build up from it, you cant have them normal later on. Sorry this isnt probably much help, but good luck! Either way you will do great!
Hmm with twins it would be different. But I wanted to do a regular birth, with epidural and in the end I had a c section. Sometimes you don't have a choice. C section it can be a longer process afterwards but that also depends on your body...good luck!
Well since my birth plan was to get the baby out safely… lol. I went in for a natural birth (with an epi), but after 12 hours of labor and a baby whose head was being squished because I quit dilating, I had a c-section. Honestly, if you want to TRY a natural, then go ahead, but with twins, I can't imagine the odds are in favor of the natural birth actually happening. I don't know though, it really depends on how your body handles pitocin (which I'm assuming they'll give you since you're having the babies early). Mine didn't handle it well. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. :)
If I were you I would wait and see what the doc says. If your babies are looking like they are head down instead of breach then i would go for natural. I have never had a c-section, but I know that they are harder to recover from than natural. And if you do you c section route you could always go natural with the next baby! (assuming you want more :) Either way see if your doc has words of advice for you. If you do decide c section schedule it rather than going through normal labor and then having a c section after your body has already been in the natural labor mode. good luck babe!
I loved having the epidural. Made it WAY more enjoyable. I wouldn't have been able to deliver naturally if I hadn't had it because my contractions werent relaxing. Basically like one giant contraction that I would deriously have died from if I had felt it!! But I never had a c-section so I cannot comment on that.
I had both mine c-sections. I would have way rather had them naturally if I could. It is a long recovery and so hard especially not being able to lift over 10 lbs for 6 weeks. I would definitely try to have them naturally.
I haven't been on your blog forever...YOUR PREGGO WITH TWINS!!!!! AHHHHHH I"M SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!
I just blundered across your blog:) I'm a nurse/doula and if you've got twins many docs will do a vaginal delivery if the first is head down. The pros for that are it is usually a better recovery and easier(but not guarenteed). With a c-section there are usually more risks for complications with mom. There is a greater risk for bleeding too much, plus all the risks that come with major surgery. There is also more risk for future pregnancies if you want to have more kids. But sometimes a c-section is the safest way. But I do blog about birth if you want to check it out. I do tend to gear it towards natural birth, but I'm open to whatever women want. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have:)
It's definitly a personal choice. But my opinion is natural (with Epidural). You heal quicker and there is a whole list of other reason's it's good for the babies and yourself. I had C-sections with both my boys so I'm not bashing on C-sections at all. It's totally worth it to have healthy safe babies. But I'd at least try for natural. C-sections is MAJOR surgery. You don't heal as quickly and you have chance for scar tissue which could make it harder to have more children in the future. Talk to your doctor about pro's and cons.
